This course of study has been designed to comply with the regulations set out by the Canadian and American regulatory bodies for chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists, focusing primarily on the Western Medical Acupuncture (WMA) approach to the management of musculoskeletal pain and injuries.
Integrated Needling is accredited by Central Queensland University’s School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences, and is part of both the core and post-graduate curriculums of their Chiropractic program. CQU is a member of the CCE (Australasia) and the CCEI, alongside other programs including CMCC and UQTR.
In Person Weekend Breakdown (Manuals Provided):
Weekend 1 – Upper limb conditions and muscles (requires additional course purchase)
Weekend 2 – Lower limb conditions and muscles (requires additional course purchase)
Weekend 3 – Head/Spine and advanced pain management/neuromodulation
Course of Study:
You will learn the following:
– Regional point prescriptions for common MSK conditions seen in practice, and gain expertise in locating and needling these points
– Current evidence regarding the utility of acupuncture in modulating pain and treating MSK conditions
– Effect of acupuncture needles on myofascial tissue and biochemistry and how it modulates pain
– Indications, contraindications, clean needle technique and safety guidelines
– A brief history of the origin and theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
– All 361 acupuncture points across the 14 meridians and the 48 extraordinary points
